As someone who goes to the gym religiously it also means I spend a ton on food to satiate my appetite, so I have been looking for new cheap recipes that are healthy and protein packed. This article came at the perfect time for me lol!
I’ll bet that cake is scrumptious. The dessert recipes that call for non-traditional type ingredients usually are, like the avocado chiffon pie I made for a potluck brunch that was rapidly gobbled up. The key is not to divulge the weird ingredient beforehand!
The cake is great! And totally agree- so much more fun to surprise and wow them with any unusual ingredients. Definitely intrigued by the avocado chiffon pie…
I was literally looking at all the cans in my pantry last night (including many a black bean) and wondering what to do with them. Such wonderful timing—thank you, Kerry!

Haha, happy to help! A smash burger (or two) and some black bean tacos should definitely do the trick.

Lots of great inspiration here
so happy to hear that, thank you!
That makes me so happy—thanks!
I was just thinking of putting black beans on the menu plan for next week, so I'm so glad I stumbled upon this post!
Going to give the black bean tacos a try! And I have flour tortillas on hand, so I'll stick with that version :) Thanks again for the great round-up.
That sounds like a great plan. :) Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Wow, perfect timing! Glad I could help :)

Oh wow, yes that’s perfect timing! Glad to provide some bean inspiration :)
I was so curious about what was in that cake!
On my list, I had a version of enfrjioladas while in San Miguel de Allende and haven't stopped thinking about it! They are basically little cheese enchiladas smothered in black bean puree: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/enfrijoladas?srsltid=AfmBOopjiz4NV1xS3abOv6UgSf8Xf37tlgCgRjBiarPVY34UAMWvNK5x
That sounds amazing! You can go wrong with Mexican dishes using black beans--will have to try!
